On Nov. 25th,
2004, Thanksgiving Day, I will be demonstrating this book on
‘Crafters Coast to Coast’. Go to
www.hgtv.com for time listings in your area.
When you look at this
art book, it is cheerful, playful, and festive. But what hides in
the pockets are some of my self-defeating inner conversations that
have the possibility of stopping me. The Inner Conversations
book came about when I was getting ready for Book Fest, which is an
art show for handmade books. It would be my first time participating
at an event like this and I felt very insecure. My feeling was that
everyone else was better than me.
When I was hand sewing
this book, I was observing the conversations that were coming up for
me:
Am I good enough?
I’m afraid.
Who am I kidding?
Am I doing this right?
I don’t make a
difference.
Does this look good?
I can’t do this.
I don’t know what to
say.
Even though they were
self-defeating thoughts, I still kept on sewing and said to myself –
‘You’re still going to do this no matter what.’ I then decided to
put the negative thoughts on round tags and made pockets to hide
them from view, and sewed positive words (Believe, Miracle,
Brilliance and Imagine) to be seen when the book is opened.
I wasn’t able to sell
Inner Conversations that day but it did get me on HGTV which
is even better.
Now you can transform
your self-defeating thoughts into inspiration by ordering your own
Inner Conversations kit. It’s an all-in-one beading and
embroidery felt kit that includes instructions and diagrams for
beginners and advanced.
Inner Conversations
would make a great gift for the holiday season!
